Head Coach Laura Harvey
On the feeling of earning a point at Providence Park:

ā€œObviously you always want more than that, but I think for us coming here after a couple of really hard weeks for us, even though we got points at Sky Blue, we weren't happy with our performance and I said to the players this week ā€˜We can either play our game, come here and itā€™ll be really difficult for us, or we can accept the way they play and try and counteract it.ā€™ Iā€™ve just said to the players, every time we ask them to do something really tactical and a little bit different, North Carolina away, here, they buy into it and give absolutely everything to it. Could our quality have been a little bit better at times? Yes. But our work rate and putting bodies on the line - our defending, our grit - was second to none.ā€

On holding Portland scoreless:

ā€œI think we wanted to reduce their space in behind. We think we did that. We wanted to try and force them to deliver early. I think we did that. I think there were a couple of times they got in, but I felt like we had some really good chances as well. I think the game was relatively even and I think weā€™re happy to come away with a point. Seattle and Portland were really difficult teams for us last year, coming here was brutal, so to come away with a point after what we went through last year is a positive. But weā€™ll look at it, because thereā€™s still things we need to be a little bit better at.ā€

Forward Mallory Weber

On the importance of getting a point on the road:

ā€œEspecially at Providence Park, itā€™s hard for anybody to get a point and I think we all bought in and we gave everything. We walked away with a point and stuck to the game plan and it worked.ā€

On playing against her former team:
ā€œThat was fun, it was really fun playing against a former club, especially one who let you go and to come in and be able to kinda prove yourself was all I could ask for.ā€
