HERRIMAN, Utah (Saturday, April 13, 2024) – Four Real Salt Lake Academy players, Axel Uriostegui, Cameron Estala, Juan Gio Villa, and Luca Moisa have been called up to the United States Youth National Team U16 team.
These players have been called up to a six-day USYNT Domestic Camp held in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA and will report on April 13 with the camp lasting through April 19, 2024.Â
Moisa and Villa have been with the Real Monarchs for the start of their 2024 season. Moisa appeared in the two opening Monarchs matches starting in both while Villa has appeared in the 20-man roster both games but has yet to make his professional debut fresh off his first signed pro contract last January. Real Monarchs stood at 0-1-1 in their first two games before sending their academy standouts to the 2024 Generation adidas Cup.
The RSL Academy U17 squad is coming off of a heartbreaking quarterfinal loss to San Jose Earthquakes 0-0 (9:8) in the GA Cup Quarterfinal. RSL Academy earned results in all three group stage games including two wins and a draw with a shoutout victory, finishing top of their group earning eight points. RSL would defeat Chicago Fire 2-0 in the Round of 16 before ultimately falling in the Quarterfinals.
Familiar with the USYNT system our boys look to impress head coach Gonzalo Segares in camp before returning home to host the Seattle Sounders on April 20, 2024 at Zions Bank Training Center as the MLS NEXT season nears an end.
