The RSL u16 academy team is going back to Cali.
RSL defeated Sporting KC, 3-0, this afternoon in their quarterfinal match to punch their ticket to Carson, California for the Academy Championships on July 14th.
The rout in KC got started in the 6th minute when Juan Obeso found the back of the net to give the Claret & Cobalt a lead they would never relinquish.
Benjamin Ortiz gave RSL some breathing room in the 30th minute & Julian Vasquez sealed it with an exclamation point in the 57th.
The RSL u18 lost in the quarterfinals to the LA Galaxy Academy in a PK shootout.
The u16 squad will face two-time defending champion FC Dallas in the semifinals.
