Over the weekend the Real Salt Lake Academy earned 3-0 victories from both the U15s and U17s over Real Colorado.Ā
The U15s kicked off the victorious day, with goals from Carlos Castrejon, Max Lara and Jahāmani Stapleton to give the team the 3-0 win. Goalkeeper Ty Rinker earned yet another shutout in between the posts. The team overall is not 7-2-2 across MLS NEXT play.
After watching the younger side dominate, the U17s came out looking for their own triumph. Fresh off his time with the U17 United States Menās National Team, goalkeeper Fernando Delgado put on a clinic in goal, making several saves to preserve the shutout. Meanwhile, Jaden Jackson scored his first brace of the year, and a final goal from Angel Morales sealed the 3-0 result.Ā
Nearing the end of the calendar year, and the halfway mark for the MLS NEXT season the U15s are currently third in league play and second in inter league play. Meanwhile the U17s are fourth in both league and inter league play.Ā
The two teams will host the Colorado Rapids on November 21 at Zions Bank Stadium for the final two matches of the 2021 MLS NEXT year, before returning to competition in February of 2022.Ā
During the break in the regular season the Academy will travel to Norco, California to take part in the MLS NEXT regional Winter Showcase from December 3-7.
