Soccer has the innate ability to bring people together during times of need and to help alleviate the community of El Paso, Texas in light of the recent tragic events in the south-Texas community, the Real Salt Lake Arizona Academy is sending a group of U-14s to El Paso for a fundraising effort to take place on Saturday, August 24 to help local clubs.
RSL AZ has organized a free street soccer tournament at the Eastside Sports Complex from 6:30p – 9:30p for boys and girls of all ages. In addition to RSL securing the complex in El Paso, adidas will be sending El Paso Strong t-shirts for the first 400 players that arrive while Kwik Goal is sending 40 pop-up goals to the complex for the event that will remain at the complex for use after the weekend. Participants, friends, family and fans are invited to donate on site, or through a Go Fund Me page set up by the club. All donations will go directly to El Paso Soccer. Raffles will also take place for fans to win MLS player jerseys.
RSL and Utah Royals FC is joined in donation to local El Paso clubs by fellow MLS clubs LA Galaxy, Houston Dynamo, FC Dallas and the Portland Timbers as well as the University of Texas El Paso among others. Fans are strongly encouraged to donate to the effort in an effort to build and stronger community surrounding soccer around our country.
