HERRIMAN, Utah (Friday, March 14, 2025) - Real Monarchs unveil its 2025 Roster construction on the eve of its fourth season competing in MLS NEXT Pro. The 13-man roster will receive aid from both Real Salt Lake and the RSL Academy to complete the roster.

Real Monarchs kick off the 2025 campaign in Portland, Ore., this Saturday, traveling to face Portland Timbers 2. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. MT with broadcast available via Apple Tv’s MLS Season Pass.
Real Monarchs will return home for the opening round of the 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, hosting amateur side El Farolito during its second appearance (2015) of the 111-year-old-tournament.
Zions Bank Stadium will host both the U.S. Open Cup and MLS NEXT Pro play next week as Colorado Rapids 2 visits this side of the Rockies on Sunday,
March 23. Kickoff is set for 6:00p MT, with broadcast available via MLSNEXTPro.com; all home Real Monarchs tickets are available for just $5 at the door of the designated venue.
Amongst the Claret-and-Cobalt’s 11 new additions, five were acquired via the MLS Superdraft; Maximus Jennings (2024, 76th overall, Georgetown University) and Ruben Mesalles (2024, 84th overall, Duke University) were both drafted in the 2024 Superdraft before returning to school for their junior and senior years prior to signing with SLC. Lineker Rodrigues (2025 29th overall, Marshall University) headlined the Monarchs’ 2025 Superdraft signees followed by collegiate teammates Trace Alphin (2025, 59th overall, Wake Forest University) and Liam O’Gara (2025, 79th overall, Wake Forest University).
Kevin Bonilla (Real Salt Lake) and Antonio Riquelme (RSL Academy) remain in the building changing the crest on their kits, now donning the outstretched lion. Domestically, Giovanni “Gio” Calderon (New England Revolution II) and Wesley “Wes” Charpie (Louisville City FC) maken the move to the Beehive State joining the Monarchs from MLS NEXT Pro and the USL Championship.
Prince Abban (Exulted Football Club) and Loic Adjalala (Riffa Sports Club), move across the Atlantic to join SLC in their next chapter of their young careers from their home countries of Ghana and Benin. Both born in 2006 the duo seeks significant minutes with the Monarchs.
Head Coach Mark Lowry remains under helm for his second year with the club previously leading Real Monarchs to its best regular season performance in the MLS NEXT Pro era finishing the 2024 campaign with 25 points in 13 matches, the fifth-best throughout the league during that span. Despite a near dozen new faces, Lowry's squad returns 50.2% of last season’s minutes and 40.5% of its goals.
Four members of the 2024 Real Monarchs squad climbed the ranks joining 39 others as part of Real Salt Lake’s league leading homegrown signings. Gio Villa, Owen Anderson, Omar Marquez, Aiden Hezarkhani all will appear for the Monarchs this season as RSL loanees.
