HERRIMAN, Utah (Thursday, April 11, 2024) - Utah Royals FC (1-1-0, 3 pts, 12th NWSL) returns home following the recent FIFA international window to host Orlando Pride (0-3-0, 3 pts, 8th NWSL) at America First Field tomorrow, Friday, April 12 at 7:30p MT.
Prior to the international break, Utah Royals FC traveled east for its first road match of 2024, falling 2-1 to Washington Spirit at Audi Field. Rookie sensation Ally Sentnor was able to find the net once again after scoring her first professional goal the previous week against North Carolina Courage.
The road trip not only gave the squad its first away experience but also saw another debut as former Brigham Young University DF Olivia Griffitts made her first professional appearance with her first start since being selected in the second round of January’s 2024 NWSL Draft, slotting in for the injured Imani Dorsey at right back. With a full 90 minutes under her belt at the next level, Griffitts will now be looking to earn her second straight start in front of the home crowd at America First Field.

Orlando arrives in Utah with three matches played, three draws and four goals scored. In their last match, the Pride tied Chicago Red Stars 1-1 but recorded an xG of 1.9. Having scored in each of their matches, the Pride can be expected to create quality goalscoring chances. The Royals enter this game on the heels of its first road experience and second loss on the young season. Despite keeping the ball (56% possession) and forcing four saves out of Spirit GK Aubrey Kingsbury, the Royals lacked the finishing touch necessary for the result.
Following Friday’s home match, Utah Royals FC travel to Kentucky to face Racing Louisville FC at Lynn Family Stadium next weekend for a Saturday 3:00 p.m. MT kickoff. Fans can stream the match live on NWSL+, watch on KMYU or can tune in with KSL Sports Radio. On matchday six, the Royals return to Utah to defend America First Field against the Houston Dash on Saturday, April 27 at 5:30 p.m. MT (tickets are available at https://www.rsl.com/utahroyals/tickets/single)
