HERRIMAN, Utah (Thursday, October 8, 2026) - Utah Royals FC announced today the extension of forward Cece Delzer through the 2028 NWSL season.

The Utah Royals acquired the veteran forward in April of 2025 as a free agent following the mutual termination of her contract with Gotham FC. Delzer was drafted by the Houston Dash in the second round of the 2019 NWSL College Draft, where she made 16 appearances her rookie season before moving to play for Kolbotn Football Club in Norway. Delzer returned to the NWSL in 2021, where she had stints with Racing Louisville, Kansas City Current and Gotham FC before joining the Royals.

In her first year in Utah, the Overland Park, Kansas native made 10 appearances with the Club, starting five and scoring one goal. Her role has increased significantly this season, as she has become one of the most important players in the Royals’ historic 2026 campaign. With three matches remaining, Delzer has appeared in 26 matches, starting 24, and has already secured career records for appearances, starts and minutes played in a season.

Delzer has scored 5 goals in the NWSL in 2026 — including her first career brace in a dominant 5-1 home win against Portland Thorns FC — and provided three assists, all to Japanese international Mina Tanaka. With a goal in Utah’s 2-1 win over North Carolina Courage on September 27, Delzer notched her 25th career NWSL goal, becoming the 40th player in league history to hit that mark. Her skill on the ball and poised finishing have made her a mainstay of a Royals side that broke the Club record for most goals in a season (44) in addition to setting new records for points (46) and wins (14).

Now locked in until 2028, this will be the longest Delzer has stayed at a single Club in her career, and she will continue to contribute to the Royals’ search for a first Club title.
