I've been fortunate enough to watch a lot of soccer in a lot incredible venues in the last five years.
In that time, I've seen a bunch of amazing players do a number of unbelievable things.
From Bastian Schweinsteiger's rocket, Sebastian Giovinco repeatedly getting stuffed by the GOAT, to Luke Mulholland trying to fight the goal post & losing ... I thought I'd seen pretty much everything this league had to offer.
I'm going to choose my words extremely carefully so I write exactly what I mean.
Damir's equalizer in the 2018 Knockout Round is by far the single greatest goal I've ever seen live.
Full stop.
I get goosebumps just thinking about it right now.
The technique, the situation, the pressure, the moment, the subsequent social media videos ... it has it all.
I mean, just go back up to the top of the page & watch it again.
To even think about attempting that is insanity.
To, ya know, actually pull it off is just plain lunacy.
I will never ever forget that goal or that night.
