On Jose Hernandez’s goal:
“For the team, it means a lot. He comes and gives us what we expect for every player that comes and plays for us. This is his second game he has started with us consecutively and he played really well today. Besides the goal, the game he played was amazing. The form he put on the field, winning the ball, getting in the 18 box, trying to create opportunity for the team. He played really well today.”
On building on the draw from a losing streak:
“We wanted to win. We didn’t deserve to tie today and we did. That’s soccer; We lose games we didn’t deserve to lose and we’ve won games we don’t deserve to win. Today, besides the point, beside everything, I’m really happy with the form of the team. The way the team played today was amazing. The reaction from the three losses, they came back home and the foot they put on the field made me so happy today.”
Moving on against Orange County SC:
“We know that game is coming up. We are going to worry about that game in the coming days but for now we are thinking about this game against Saint Louis. Today we are going to enjoy the point. We have a couple days to prepare for Orange County, but we know it’s going to be a massive game because they have a really good team. They know they are fighting for a playoff position and we need to be ready for that game.”
Midfielder Jose Hernandez
On his goal:
“Honestly, it was rewarding for the team. We played a great game and a great game plan. It was coming and I thought we were patient enough. I was fortunate enough to get the goal.”
On building from the losing streak:
“This is part of soccer. Sometimes you go in these up and downs and it just shows the kind of team we are in our character. Obviously, nobody likes to lose but it’s always great to see a team respond and I think we did everything today to deserve the win. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen but it’s a great game moving forward.”
On moving on against Orange County:
“We started preparing for that game right after this one ended. It will be exciting to go out there and play them. It will be for the top of the league which is always extra motivation and obviously they want it, we want it and it will be a fight to the end.”
