After stellar performances against Orlando and the Houston Dash, DF Becky Sauerbrunn and MF Gunny Jonsdottir were named to the NWSL’s team of the month. Both women have played every single minute for URFC, each with a crucial role in creating an identity for a new team.

MF Gunny Jonsdottir – In the last two weeks, Jonsdottir not only scored the club’s inaugural goal, but was also voted as the NWSL’s goal of the week for week one. Her work in the midfield has produced seven total shots, with four being near-goal opportunities.
DF Becky Sauerbrunn – Captain Sauerbrunn has led her team to two difficult points on the road, and has not let a single team score within the run of play. While winning a majority of duels on the ground and in the air, Sauerbrunn has been a relentless force in the backline, alongside center back Rachel Corsie and GK Abby Smith.
