SANDY, Utah (Thursday, July 13, 2017) ā Real Salt Lake has announced that FW Ricardo Velazco has undergone a successful ankle procedure on Thursday and is on the road to recovery.
Velazco, 24, underwent surgery for a full repair of a right high ankle sprain and is expected to be out for four months. The Real Salt Lake Academy product is in his second MLS season after signing with Real Monarchs in 2015 and earning a promotion to the first team in 2016. In two seasons with the Monarchs in USL, he had 10 goals and nine assists. With RSL, he played 254 minutes in nine appearances, including his first MLS start on May 13 against the New England Revolution.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Andrew Cooper at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center.
āRicardoās surgery went great. We stabilized his ankle and anticipate that he should be able to make a full recovery,ā Cooper said.
