2021: Real Salt Lake: Featured in 27 matches and made 18 starts in the center of midfield. Besler registered one assist in 1,643 minutes during the regular season and 71 minutes during the Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs.

2020 Real Salt Lake: Besler played a total of 569 minutes in 12 appearances for RSL in 2020, including 6 starts.

2019 Real Salt Lake: In his second season with the club, Besler played 727 minutes across 17 appearances, including seven starts. Besler scored one goal and recorded a career-high two assists.2018 Real Salt Lake: In his first full season with RSL, Besler played in 22 matches at center back for the club, making 15 starts. Besler totaled 1,431 minutes.2017 Real Monarchs: Besler signed with the Real Monarchs prior to the 2017 season and was named team captain. He started all 30 of his appearances and tallied three goals and one assist. Besler was promoted to Real Salt Lake on August 24, 2017.

2015-2016 Portland Timbers 2: As a 2013 College Cup champion with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Besler was drafted by the Timbers in the first round (fifth overall) in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft and was with the club for two seasons, but did not make a first team appearance. Instead, Besler spent two seasons on loan with USL Portland Timbers 2. Besler made his professional debut on March 30, 2015 in a 3-1 victory over Real Monarchs on his way to 50 appearances for the club. Besler scored his first professional goal in the 2016 season opener on March 27, 2016 in a match against Swope Park.
