The RSL-Arizona Academy U-18s cruised to a 9-0 win on Saturday to lift its record to a stunning 19-3-3, with seven matches coming with at least a score of 5-0.
That wasn’t the story of the weekend though.
That was a thunderbolt off the boot of Aaron Herrera, as the 17-year-old turned an overhead bicycle kick off a lofted ball from the opposite side of the field and 30 yards away into a SportsCenter Top Play. He finished the match with a hat trick to lead the RSL-AZ U-18s to a third consecutive shutout win since dropping two straight matches a month ago.
A native of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Herrera is commited to play at the University of New Mexico in the fall.
