Real Salt Lake is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with the main event kicking off on September 17 during the Club’s Hispanic Heritage Night against FC Cincinnati.
RSL will host 3000 students and families from Latinos in Action at America First Field. Before the match they’ll hear from bilingual community leaders in government, business and entertainment. Latinos in Action (LIA) is based in Sandy, UT. and offers an asset based approach to bridging the graduation and opportunity gap for Latino students.
The Club will also be making donations to the Utah Development Academy, the Guadalupe School and Catholic Community Services as part of the Every Save Makes a Difference Program.
Ahead of the match, fans will be able to purchase an exclusive Serape inspired t-shirt from the RSL Team Store at America First Field or online here.
On the plaza before the game and at halftime, the Esperanza School Mariachi band will be performing traditional Mariachi music. Hispanic players will also walk out onto the field with the flag of their country while the Riot will display a tifo featuring the player’s flags.
During the match, the Club’s social handles will post exclusively in Spanish while the website will post in Spanish and English. Additionally, Hispanic Heritage specific stories will be written in Spanish throughout the month.
The fun continues on September 22 when Liga MX giants Atlas F.C. visit America First Field to take on RSL in the League’s Cup. Tickets available here.
Earlier in September, the Club celebrated Mexico’s Independence Day with the Mexican Consulate at the Gallivan Center.
