QUOTE SHEET
Utah Royals FC 0-1 Seattle Reign FC
Rio Tinto Stadium; Sandy, Utah
August 8, 2018
Utah Royals FC
Head Coach Laura Harvey
On the result:
“We had a game plan against Seattle. We didn’t really execute it very well until late in the game where we started to create more opportunities and turn them a little bit more. The three game week is always tough, especially when your opponent doesn’t have that, but the girls just kept working all the way through to the end. Just a little bit of quality in the final third and we could have got a point. The game plan that we had, we didn’t execute until the last five minutes and if we would have done it previously to that, we would have some more problems but everything was in front of them and we didn’t turn their backline enough.”
On moving forward:
“We just have to keep grinding away. Obviously each game is going to be different. Sky Blue and Washington away, big fields, humidity, all of that. It’s going difficult but we’ve got to take care of business. Today was a day where we just felt tired. We looked tired, we looked off a little bit, we just didn’t have that connect. We’ve got to have that in those two games and thankfully it’s only a two game week and not a three game week. We’ve got to make sure that we get the right people in the right places and secondly, execute what we feel is going to be the right thing against those two teams because they are very different in how they play.”
On Christen Press as a 9:
“She did okay. We didn’t turn their backline enough to get her behind enough but we isolated her a little bit as well, and when Amy [Rodriguez] came on, we found the pair of them a little bit more which is nice. That’s just an evolution. We’ve got to train and work together as a group to work out the best partnerships because still now we haven’t had a bunch of time to do that.”

Forward Christen Press
On what to take from the loss:
"I think at this point in the season you do not have time to dwell on the past because the game is already over. Now we have an important two days to recover for the first time since I have been back from international duty we have a chance to breath and get some training in and that will be nice and it is much needed and we have three more games left in the season and we need three wins. So, its looking forward and I think it terms of performance what we just take is that making sure that our team is efficient and effective because at the end of the day its about getting points."
On her feelings about the match:
"Each of our games that I have played with this team have looked so different and if I actually look at the Houston and Washington, I personally was far more disappointed by the performance because we could have made it so much easier for us to score and get ahead and win convincingly and in this performance, it was just about finishing the chances game that we created. The team did a decent job because we had just as many chances as they did, but they put one away and game over. Today was just about finishing those chances and having quality in our service, good runs in the box and getting things on frame. We didn't do well today."
On the three game week:
"At this point we are feeling good of all the wins we get and feeling bad about any time that we don't win. It was a solid week and I think that for the third game consecutively it was a good effort today, but it is about moving forward and doing whatever it takes to get ready for next week."
