SANDY, Utah (Monday, April 8, 2019) – Utah Royals FC unveiled its updated roster on Monday ahead of the club’s second season in the National Women’s Soccer League. The club welcomes players both currently rostered as well as national team replacements.
Five Utah Royals FC players recently departed with their respective national teams for friendly matches, with most teams preparing for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The list includes Becky Sauerbrunn and Christen Press (USA), Desiree Scott (Canada), Rachel Corsie (Scotland), Katie Bowen (New Zealand), and Gunny Jónsdóttir (Iceland). Participants representing their national teams are scheduled to join the club in the coming days.
Utah Royals FC opens the 2019 season on April 20 at Rio Tinto Stadium against the Washington Spirit. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. MT with a fireworks show to follow after the match.
