The Real Salt Lake Academy U15s continued its winning ways, defeating FC Dallas 5-2 in game two of MLS NEXT Flex. The U15s are now just one win away from securing a place in MLS NEXT Cup, as the winner of each group earns automatic qualification to the summer championship tournament.
The attack from the U15s was on full display again Sunday morning with a pair of braces from Dominic Berrios and Zavier Gozo, while Axel Uriostegui netted his fourth goal of the competition.
Berrios kicked off the dominant performance for the U15s, securing the first two goals of the match and his brace of MLS NEXT Flex. Gozo joined in on the scoring spree, adding his first goal of the competition shortly after with Uriostegui finding the back of the net long after. Gozo was able to secure the brace with the final goal for RSL for the 5-2 win and to hold firm onto first place in the group.
Up next: The U15s will return to MLS NEXT Flex play on Tuesday, May 17 at 6:30 a.m. MT against the Strikers FC of Irvine, California to determine the winner of the group. If victorious, the RSL Academy will punch its ticket to the MLS NEXT Cup in late June.
