Real Salt Lake forward Sebastian Saucedo and RSL-AZ Academy forward Brooks Lennon were named to Javier Perez’s 20-man roster for the U.S. U-18 National Team’s training camp in Marbella, Spain.
The camp runs from Dec. 11-20 and features two matches against Germany’s U-18s on Dec. 17 and 19.
Saucedo was a key member of the highly successful RSL-AZ Academy teams that went to two straight USSDA U-16 title games and won the National Championship in 2012-2013. He also led the team to the final of the 2013-2014 Generation Adidas Cup, where he was given the Golden Ball for the tournament’s outstanding player and the Golden Boot as its leading scorer. In two seasons in Casa Grande, he amassed 50 goals.
Lennon has 10 goals in 13 games this season for RSL-AZ’s U-18 team after netting 20 goals in 40 games over two seasons at the U-16 level.
The duo joins a roster that includes 13 players with MLS Academy experience and five that are currently signed to MLS clubs.
The U-18 MNT is 4-6-1 in international competition in 2014.
