SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake announced on Monday that its match at San Jose Earthquakes initially scheduled for Wednesday, May 7 has been moved to Saturday, March 15. The March 15 match will kick at 8:30 p.m. MT at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
The schedule change was made in order to better accommodate San Jose’s CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal series against Deportivo Toluca FC.
Real Salt Lake will open the 2014 MLS regular season on Saturday, March 8 at 8:30 p.m. MT at LA Galaxy. The Claret-and-Cobalt will then play at San Jose the next weekend before opening its home schedule on Saturday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m. MT at Rio Tinto Stadium against LA. RSL’s March 22 home opener will be broadcast nationally on the NBC Sports Network.
RSL will announce its full preseason schedule later on Monday.
