SANDY, Utah (Friday, September 23, 2011)– Real Salt Lake (15-7-6, 51 pts.; T-2nd in West) will look to clinch a spot in the upcoming MLS Cup Playoffs and extend its MLS season-highfive-match winning streak tomorrow, Saturday, September 24, when the Claret-and-Cobalt wrap-up a weeklong East Coast road trip in a clash against D.C. United (8-8-11, 35 pts.; 6th in East). Along with its quest for a fourth straight berth into MLS’ postseason will be the chance for Real Salt Lake to eclipse last year’s single-season win record of 15, which RSL evened with Wednesday night’s 3-1 triumph at New York.
Tomorrow night’s kickoff at RFK Stadium is set for 5:30 p.m. MT for a contest that will be televised live on KMYU 2.2 (Comcast 22 / Dish Network 12) and can be heard on ESPN 700 Sports (English) and Juan 1600-AM (Spanish). In addition, RSL fanatics are invited to join up to view the game at any of the Official ESPN 700 Watch Parties for Real Salt Lake, taking place at all six ‘Bout Time Pub & Grub’ locations across the Salt Lake valley.

Since Kreis took over, RSL’s MLS road mark is 15-36-21, with the four road wins in 2010 doubling the two earned in each of the 2007-09 seasons … 13 games down (5-5-3, 18 pts), four games to go in 2011 … Starting back on Aug. 13 at Toronto, and factoring in the new Oct. 6 date north of the border in Vancouver, the Claret-and-Cobalt play 9 of its final 13regular season contests – and 5 of the last 7 – awayfrom the friendly confines of Rio Tinto Stadium …
RSL History v. D.C. United
The RSL / DCU all-time regular-season series has generally been dominated by the home team as the visiting side has only secured one road win the squads’ 13-game history … While the Claret-and-Cobalt hold the advantage in overall meetings between the two sides at 5-4-4, RSL has never won in the Nation’s Capital, posting a 0-3-3 all-time mark at RFK Stadium … Back on June 18, RSL and D.C. United played to a 1-1 draw at Rio Tinto Stadium thanks to a pair of penalty kicks from RSL’s Fabián Espíndola and D.C. United’s Charlie Davies … The match came a time when the Claret-and-Cobalt were short-handed as Will Johnson, Álvaro Saborío and Arturo Alvarez were all out of the line-up due to national team call-ups for 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup …
