RSL Looks for First-ever Win at Dallas During Wednesday Contest
SANDY, Utah (Tuesday, April 24, 2012) – Real Salt Lake (5-3-0, 15 pts.; #2 in West) will look to break a two-game losing streak and conclude its three-game road trip Wednesday, April 25, when the Claret-and-Cobalt head to the Lone Star State to take on FC Dallas (3-3-1, 10 pts.; T-#4 in West). The 6:30 p.m. MT kickoff at FC Dallas Stadium will be broadcast live on CW30, with coverage including a 30-minute wrap-up show from Frisco. Fans will also be able to listen to the action live via the team’s official radio partners: ESPN 700 / ESPN700Sports.com, La Gran D 102.3 FM and Juan 1600-AM.
Tomorrow will serve as a homecoming for RSL’s technical staff as Head Coach Jason Kreis and assistant coaches Jeff Cassar and Miles Joseph – along with GM Garth Lagerwey – all have ties to FC Dallas. Kreis scored 91 MLS goals wearing a Dallas Burn kit and Cassar, Joseph and Lagerwey all represented Dallas in their careers. Wednesday’s Texas showdown will be supplemented by the possible start for former RSL GK Chris Seitz, selected #3 overall in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft and now Kevin Hartman’s backup, as well as the presence of RSL’s inaugural head coach, John Ellinger who now plays the role of assistant coach for the Dallas side.
Wednesday’s match will also mark the middle contest during RSL’s latest three-game, eight-day stretch, the Utah side’s second such run in April starting with Saturday’s 1-3 loss at San Jose and concluding this Saturday night when Toronto FC (0-6-0, 0 pts.; #10 in East) visits Rio Tinto Stadium.

RSL History v. FCD
During the midweek visit to see the Hoops, Real Salt Lake will be looking to take back to Utah its first victory not only from Dallas (0-10-1, including playoffs and U.S. Open Cup action), but the entire state of Texas (0-17-2). The silver lining in that record comes from the fact that RSL notched its first away draw in Dallas in its last visit, a scoreless draw last May 22 doing the trick for the visitors. The Utah side followed that up with a 2-0 victory in the home leg against Dallas on July 9, goals by Andy Williams (47) and Fabian Espindola (90) helping RSL even its record against FCD to 5-5-2 in all competitions since 2008 (7-13-3 vs. Dallas overall).
