The RSL Academy enters its first week of the regular season having completed its preparations for the upcoming 2019/20 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season. The RSL Academy opens its first season under the direction of Director Tom Spall on Sunday against the Portland Timbers at Zions Bank Real Academy. For the first time on Utah soil, the RSL Academy will see a U-15 contingent open Sunday’s proceedings at 9:00a MT, followed by the U-17s at 11:30a MT and the U-19s at 2:00p MT. Sunday’s matches will be a part of the newly touted DA Cup. Admission to RSL Academy matches are free and fans are strongly encouraged to attend to see the next generation of RSL hopefuls.
This season fans can expect to see the U-17s and U-19s compete in the USSDA’s Southwest division and new to the club for the 2019/20 season, is RSL carrying a U-15 contingent to compete and be housed in Herriman.
RSL will open the 2019/20 campaign in the newly touted DA Cup tournament on Sunday, September 8 as all three teams face the Portland Timbers in respective age groups. The teams will begin regular season play in October.
