The Real Salt Lake Academy U-17s are set to kick off the March edition of the Generation adidas Cup in Frisco, Texas running March 23-31.
Placed in Group D of the Premier Division of the Generation adidas Cup, the Academy will play three matches between March 23 and March 27. RSL opens the weekend against Orlando City SC on March 23 at 10:15 a.m. MT, followed by a March 25 battle against the Houston Dynamo at 8:00 a.m. MT before a March 27 match against Monterrey U-17s at 7:00 a.m. MT.
Beyond the three group matches scheduled, RSL are set to play two more matches on March 29 and 31 respectively with a time and opponent yet to be determined.
The U-17 group are coming off the back of a double game week in California that saw them face FC Golden State and the LA Galaxy last Saturday and Sunday. Against FC Golden State the U-17s saw MF Bryce Duke along with FWs Julian Vasquez and Ben Ortiz notch goals in a 3-1 win. On Sunday against the LA Galaxy Ortiz and Julian Vasquez each found the back of the net in a 2-0 win.
Both RSL sides will return to U.S. Soccer Development Academy regular-season action with a trip to San Diego to face San Diego Surf on April 7 and Nomads SC on April 8. The U-17s will open the matches on both days at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. noon respectively, followed by the older group at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. respectively.
