REAL SALT LAKE WELCOMES VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA AS SATURDAY’S “LEO’S PAWS FOR THE CAUSE” PARTNER
Ticket Fundraiser and Game Night Sock Drive at Rio Tinto Stadium Aim to Support Organization’s Homeless Outreach Efforts
SANDY, Utah (Thursday, April 26, 2012) – As part of the “Leo’s Paws for the Cause” community program, Real Salt Lake is proud to support Volunteers of America and their homeless outreach programs by hosting a ticketfundraiser and Sock Donation Drive in conjunction with this Saturday’s home match against Toronto FC (7:00 p.m. MT kickoff).
Fans that want to attend Saturday’s contest against Toronto FC and donate to Volunteers of America at the same time can do so by purchasing a $20 North Endzone section ticket online at www.voaut.org or www.RealSaltLake.com/content/ticket-promotions (Promo Code: VOA), with $5 from each sale being donated to VOA.
As a part of Saturday night’s donation drive, receptacles will be located at the Volunteers of America booth in Carnival Real from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and four entrance gates acrossRio Tinto Stadium to collect new pairs of socks for VOA’s homeless shelter.
Volunteers of America is a 116-year-old national organization that focuses on helping youth and adults recover from homelessness and substance abuse. In 2011 alone, VOA supported more than 10,000 people across a number of Utah communities, with their outreach services including the Homeless Youth Resource Center, Cornerstone Counseling Center and the Center for Women and Children.
