HERRIMAN, Utah (Friday, June 2, 2023) – Real Salt Lake (4-7-4, 16 pts., 12th West) concludes a fifth consecutive three-game week Saturday in Austin, returning to the site of last year’s postseason disappointment against Austin FC (5-6-4, 19 pts, 8th West) in one of several MLS Matchday 17 contests. RSL is winless in its three previous all-time visits to the Texas capital, dropping a 1-2 decision in its first visit in Oct. 2021, prior to last year’s 0-3 regular-season result and the 2-2, 120-minute playoff match decided by kicks from the penalty mark, which saw the home emerge and advance.
Kickoff between RSL and Austin begins at 6:30 p.m. MT on the Apple MLS Season Pass w/ Adrian Healey and Cobi Jones (ENG) & Raul Guzman and Sonny Guardarrama (SPN); for local coverage, tune in at 6:00 p.m. MT for KSL Radio pre-game w/ David James & Jay Nolly via www.KSLSports.com / 1280 AM / 97.5 FM and www.KSLNewsRadio.com / 1160 AM).
RSL dropped a 2-3 midweek home match Wednesday to the LA Galaxy, the Austin match this weekend signifying a return to the road for the fifth time in two weeks. After earning two wins and a draw at Colorado and Minnesota prior to Memorial Day, RSL’s 1-0 win on May 24 at Rocky Mountain Cup rival Colorado earned RSL hosting rights for the upcoming 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinal next Wednesday, June 7 against the Galaxy. Following that match, on Saturday, June 10, RSL will host New York City FC on the Wasatch Front. Tickets for all RSL home games can be found at www.RSL.com/tickets.

RSL @ AUSTIN PREVIEW
Real Salt Lake (4-7-4, 16 pts., 12th West) now focuses on recapturing its legendary home form, as three of its next four matches will be played on Utah soil – where RSL historically has earned nearly 2.00 points per game with a .700 winning percentage – after Head Coach Pablo Mastroeni’s side earned seven road points in three away games last week.Â
Since April 8, RSL has recorded six wins, three losses and four draws in its last 13 games across multiple competitions, as the three games to be played between now and June 10 will push the slate of schedule congestion to 15 games in 48 days across MLS and Open Cup action, during which Mastroeni and the RSL staff have used 25 different players.
