SANDY, Utah
(Friday, September 14, 2018) –
Real Salt Lake
(13-10-5, 44 pts., 4th West) returns from the international break to host Minnesota United FC on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. MT at Rio Tinto Stadium. RSL is riding a three-game winning streak and is unbeaten in the last 13 matches at home. Additionally, the club has scored six goals in the last two matches, becoming the first team in Major League Soccer history to score six goals in consecutive matches. In the last match on September 1, MF
Damir Kreilach
scored the first hat trick for RSL since 2014 in leading a 6-2 charge over the LA Galaxy in front of a crowd of a stadium-record crowd of 21,363.
RSL sits fourth overall in a tightly-packed Western Conference playoff race and is 10-1-3 at the RioT this season. Salt Lake is the only Western Conference team with 10 home wins this season and now has two players with 10 or more goals (Kreilach and MF Albert Rusnák) for the first time since 2011 (Alvaro Saborio and Fabian Espindola). Kreilach earned Alcatel MLS Player of the Week honors for his performance, while FW
Jefferson Savarino
had the top score in the league in the Audi Index for the third consecutive week.
Head Coach Mike Petke’s team returns home Saturday after a two-week international break that saw Rusnák score his second international goal for Slovakia and Savarino feature for Venezuela.
