HERRIMAN, Utah (Friday, March 24, 2023) – Via Major League Soccer’s intra-league loan mechanism, Real Salt Lake has acquired General Allocation Money and other assets from New York City FC in exchange for the 2023 season rights to former Real Salt Lake Academy midfielder Richie Ledezma currently signed with PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands).
Real Salt Lake will receive a minimum of $50,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) and New York City FC’s natural second-round pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, with an additional $50,000 in 2024 GAM should certain performance metrics be met this season.
Ledezma was previously a member of the RSL Academy from 2016 to 2018, during which he appeared in five matches for Real Monarchs, netting one goal, departing the United States in December, 2019.
