INDIO, Calif. (Wednesday, February 5, 2025) – Real Salt Lake continues its 2025 preseason travels with today’s Coachella Valley Invitational opener against fellow Major League Soccer side St. Louis CITY SC, a match that will stream LIVE via www.RSL.com at 11:00 a.m. MT / 1:00p ET.

Amidst the Club’s 21st preseason, RSL’s first-team Technical Staff remains intact for 2025, under the guidance of Mastroeni, returning for his fifth year with RSL and his fourth full season as field boss. Second-year RSL assistants Nate Miller, Anthony Pulis, Jamison Olave, and Joel Delass, along with goalkeeper coach Mirza Hirambasic, performance coaches Sean Buckley and Johnny Fabrizius, and video analyst Rob Rogers all return for 2025.

This staff returns from a record-setting 2024 campaign, as last year saw RSL advance to the MLS Cup Playoffs for a sixth time in seven seasons (2020 the lone exception), and for the 14th time in the last 17 seasons since first qualifying in 2008 (2015, 2017 the other outliers). The 2024 MLS regular season reached an all-time high of 59 points for RSL, which finished third in the Western Conference and sixth overall in the MLS shield race, while also establishing a new all-time scoring high of 65 goals.

A year ago, RSL won 12 of 19 games played at home across all competitions, losing just three and returning its Sandy venue to its fortress-like home once again, while the Utah side’s 2024 road record – with 14 away results from a 5W-5L-9T record – was second only to the new standard achieved in 2023 (11-7-5 / 38 points all competitions).

RSL opens 2025 looking for a fifth consecutive MLS postseason berth, and its seventh in the last eight years, on top of a highly-anticipated CONCACAF Champions Cup run, RSL’s fourth-ever and first participation in the continental competition since 2016.

Upon conclusion of the current 10-day trip at the Coachella Valley Invitational – where RSL plays the USL Championship Las Vegas Lights on Sat., Feb. 8 and New York Red Bulls next Wed., Feb. 12 – Mastroeni’s side will convene at the Zions Bank Training Center in Herriman, Utah for midday sessions on Feb. 15 and 16, prior to traveling to Costa Rica on Monday, Feb. 17 ahead of the CONCACAF Champion Cup Leg One at Herediano on Wed., Feb. 19.
