SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake divides a run of four road games out of five during the month of May with its lone May home match this Memorial Day Weekend, welcoming former Captain/Head Coach Jason Kreis and his NYCFC club – which also includes 10 other former RSL players, coaches or staff – to Rio Tinto Stadium Saturday night. Local TV coverage kicks off on KMYU (2.2 air / 12 satellite / 22+643 Comcast) at 7:30 p.m. MT, with the game also carried on ESPN700 (7:00 p.m. MT pre-game) and La Gran D 102.3 FM / 1600 AM.
Real Salt Lake (3-3-5, 14 points, West t-6) kicks off a three-games-in-eight-days stretch in front of the standing-room-only home crowd Saturday against expansion NYCFC, Rio Tinto Stadium’s fourth sellout in six home games so far in 2015. This weekend’s match sets up the congested run, prior to a midweek trip to Los Angeles – the club’s first visit to Stubhub Center since last Fall’s Western Conference Semifinal elimination – and next Saturday’s trip to Vancouver to face the Whitecaps. RSL went 1-0-2 in its previous three-game week May 1-9, drawing at home against San Jose and LA prior to the road win at Chicago.

Busy May Continues This Week; Open Cup / CCL Paths Determined
RSL is currently 1-1-3 at home, defeating Toronto on March 29 and losing to another Canadian side, Vancouver Whitecaps, on April 18, the club’s fifth home loss in the last three seasons. RSL has drawn at home thus far in 2015 to Philadelphia, San Jose and Los Angeles. Starting June 7, RSL will host six of the club’s eight MLS regular-season matches at home, through July 24.
Yesterday, RSL discovered its 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup pathway, as another Rio Tinto Stadium home game will be added to the slate, Jeff Cassar’s team hosting next week’s winner of USL sides Sounders 2 v. Timbers 2 at Rio Tinto Stadium on June 16/17.
On June 1, RSL will receive from CONCACAF the group assignments from the draw for the 2015/16 Champions League tourney, with two home games and two away scheduled during six possible matchdates in August/September/October.
Wednesday, May 27 involves a return trip to LA – the club’s first since last Fall’s 0-5 playoff elimination at the Stubhub Center – and a continuation up the West Coast to Vancouver on Saturday, May 30, the first game on the new BC Place turf being installed for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
RSL’s road form this year has been schizophrenic, posting a 2-2-2 record with a pair of blowout losses – allowing four goals last week at Montreal and at NE on 4/25, but securing three road shutouts at Portland/Kansas City/San Jose (RSL only had five road clean sheets all of last season).
