SANDY, Utah (Friday, July 13, 2018) – Real Salt Lake (9-8-2, 29 pts., 4th West) travels this weekend to face second-year side Minnesota United FC in a return to Major League Soccer action, as Head Coach Mike Petke’s team looks to continue the momentum of back-to-back home wins at TCF Bank Stadium on the Univ. of Minnesota campus Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. MT. The match airs live on KMYU, the RSL on KSL app and KSL.com, as well as ESPN700 AM, with David James and Brian Dunseth on the call.
A year ago, RSL split the season series with expansion Minnesota, RSL dropping a 2-4 decision in Minneapolis in the last game prior to the kickoff of the Petke era last April. RSL defeated the newest United 1-0 in the return match at Rio Tinto Stadium. Saturday’s match – the first of five games against teams below the playoff line from now through mid-August – provides the club an opportunity to improve upon its 1-7-1 road mark this year, as well as its 1-1-0 record this season on artificial surfaces.
