Here we are in the final week of the MLS regular season and it’s all on the line for teams throughout the league with playoff spots on the line on Decision Day on Sunday. After 33 matches and much hand-wringing, the experts at MLSsoccer.com, ESPN FC and SI.com have weighed in with their power rankings. Here is a look at how the pundits see RSL after a scoreless draw with Sporting Kansas City ended the regular season home slate with an 8-1-8 record.

“Have just one goal in five games and are limping into the playoffs. A loss at Seattle could even mean they will miss the postseason — which seemed unthinkable two months ago.”

“Failing to take care of Sporting Kansas City in a 0-0 draw at Rio Tinto Stadium means RSL is not in the playoffs quite yet, though it remains fourth in the West.”
SI.com – 12
“Real Salt Lake missed yet another chance to secure a playoff spot with a scoreless draw at home against Sporting Kansas City. Yura Movsisyan is banged up, but the RSL front line is still too talented to be shut out in such an important game. RSL hasn’t won since August 26, and has only picked up three points in the six games since that date.”
