News Stand 5/22/15
When Real Salt Lake faces New York City FC this Saturday, they will also be going up against plenty of familiar faces, including former head coach Jason Kreis who had a very successful run with RSL, winning the MLS cup in 2009.
Sebastian Velasquez, Ned Grabavoy, Chris Wingert, Kwame Watson-Siriboe and Josh Saunders all played for Kreis while he was at RSL. Along with those five players, former RSL assistants, Miles Joseph and CJ Brown, are also on Kreis’ New York staff.
In a story on NYCFC.com, former RSL player Chris Wingert said, “It’s a perfect situation to be playing with a number of teammates I played with for years on another team in the league.” In the same story Jason Kreis was quoted saying, “Sometimes you feel the entire world is on your shoulders, so it’s always nice to have people you worked with in the past by your side.”
NYCFC.com writes, “On the field, Kreis stresses possession. Off the field, he stresses character. Those philosophies and beliefs have been instilled on his players at Real Salt Lake and are currently being portrayed to his new roster at New York City FC.”
As Kreis leads the return of several former members of RSL this weekend, Real Salt Lake looks to get a good result against their former coach. To read this full article on NYCFC.com and other news about this Saturday’s upcoming match, click the links below.
