MFs Maikel Chang and Jack Black each notched their fourth goals of the season through penalty kicks to level out the match before Utah native, FW Kyle Coffee secured the three points with a header in the 72nd minute. The win marked the first win over San Antonio FC since 2016.
Friday’s bout will be the first between the Monarchs and Austin Bold FC, as the Texas side entered into the USL Championship fray at the beginning of the 2019 season. The new side has done well so far in its inaugural season coming away with points in hand more times than not, as well as boasting a roster that as of recently includes former RSL midfielder Demar Phillips. With a clean slate on the record, anything goes as these two unfamiliar foes face off on Friday.
