This was a crucial game for both teams as they try to secure their spots for the USL playoffs, with Orange County Blues being tied for 9th in the west with the Seattle Sounders 2 and Real Monarchs being in 11th place in the west. Only 3 points separating 7th place from 11th place before this game tonight. Orange County Blues were able to secure this game scoring both goals in the second half, as the Monarchs went down a man early in the game.

Three key points of the game:
· In the 11th minute of play OC Blues forward got a break away with the ball and Emilio Orozco chased him down to make the tackle. The tackle caused Orozco to get hurt and he had to be taken off the field on a stretcher. That same play, Orozco received a red car for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity. The Monarchs spent the rest of the game with only 10 players on the field.
· Charlie Adams got his first start of the season after being signed to the Monarchs from Louisville City, he was active on offense and got two shots on frame during his 82 minutes of play. Jesus Leal also got his first minutes as a Real Monarch after being signed last month from Club America.
· Eric Osswald made his first start of the season tonight, with 9 saves on the night. His performance tonight was incredible as the Monarchs went down to 10 men early and OC Blues had 25 of shots on the night. Osswald has been with the Monarchs since the beginning of the 2015 season.
