SANDY, Utah (Wednesday, February 22, 2017) – Sizzling Platter, the Utah-based restaurant management company with nearly 400 restaurant units globally, teams up with Real Salt Lake to bring fans who love Little Caesar’s and soccer closer together, one bite of pizza at a time.
“We are thrilled to partner with Real Salt Lake to offer fans and supporters our fresh, hot pizza to complement their game watching experience,” said David Tresko, Director of Marketing for Sizzling Platter. “Little Caesar’s has become a go-to brand for many families in the area looking for great tasting pizza at an affordable price and we know they will be as excited about this partnership as we are!”
Throughout the 2017 season, Little Caesar’s pizza will be available for purchase at two concession stands for both Real Salt Lake (MLS) and Real Monarchs (USL) games at Rio Tinto Stadium, with “Hot & Ready” pizza located in both the North End and the Southeast Corner of the world-class venue.

ABOUT REAL SALT LAKE / REAL MONARCHS / RSL FOUNDATION
Real Salt Lake kicks off its 13th Major League Soccer season in 2017, the Utah side buoyed by a passionate fan base boasting nearly 14,000 season ticket holders at its Rio Tinto Stadium home in Sandy. The Utah Major League Soccer side is one of the league’s most consistently excellent performers, qualifying for the postseason in eight of the last nine seasons and developing MLS’ most dominant home-field advantage, RSL posting an impressive 97-21-38 mark at “The RioT.”
RSL returns 9 of 11 starters from last season – including its co-leading scorers, FW Yura Movsisyan and FW Joao Plata, among 16 players overall – as Head Coach Jeff Cassar’s locker room is guided by iconic Captain Kyle Beckerman and GK Nick Rimando. Two of MLS’ most decorated players, Beckerman and Rimando are perennial All-Stars who have achieved individual glory and international recognition through team success – each now enter their 11th seasons in Utah, joined by DF Tony Beltran and Chris Wingert in their 10th MLS seasons on the Wasatch Front, the quartet representative of the Club’s long-tenured core.
In search of hardware, RSL seeks to reach the MLS Cup Playoffs for the ninth time in 10 years this season, a remarkable run among MLS elite (only LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders have accrued more points since 2008) that includes an MLS Cup 2009 title, the state of Utah’s only major professional championship in the last 40 years.
In 2015, RSL expanded its development pyramid with the addition of Real Monarchs, one of several MLS-operated expansion clubs in the USL. Former Head Coach Freddy Juarez – now with the first team - had enjoyed success developing homegrown players at the RSL-Arizona Academy in Casa Grande, Ariz., prior to moving to the professional ranks. Long-time RSL DF Chris Schuler utilized a rehab stint with the Monarchs to return to MLS last season, while RSL Academy product Ricardo Velazco – after 10 goals in 47 games with the USL side in 2015/16 – earned a first-team contract, joining fellow Academy alumni GK Lalo Fernandez, DF Justen Glad, MF Danilo Acosta, FW Sebastian Saucedo, FW Brooks Lennon and FW Jordan Allen, all on RSL’s 2017 preseason roster. Glad, Lennon Saucedo & Acosta lead the United States’ U-20 efforts in 2017 qualifying, along with Academy product Aaron Herrera (New Mexico).
Late this Summer, Real Salt Lake's Arizona Academy will move north to the Club’s primary training center in Herriman, Utah, approximately 20 minutes southwest of Rio Tinto Stadium. The $60 million facility will serve as the Club’s cornerstone, its daily training home opening in 2018 for both of the club's professional teams – RSL (MLS) and Real Monarchs (USL) – while centralizing the club's U-18, U-16 and future U-14 development academy youth selections. The Herriman facility will provide adjacencies for an on-site charter school opening in Fall, 2017, with STEM disciplines (Science/Technology/Engineering/Math) for nearly 300 local boys and girls.
Last November in North Logan, Utah, RSL Owner Dell Loy Hansen broke ground on the first of a half-dozen regional training centers across Utah and Arizona to be built in the next 2-3 years. Each $5 million RTC houses a classroom, as well as an indoor and outdoor field, dedicated to fulfilling a curriculum based on the club's vision and mission for youth soccer training and education, and the continued development of both recreational and competitive pre-Academy (ages 7-12) initiatives across the InterMountain West.
In 2016, the RSL Foundation was established, created with the goals of being active in the community year-round, utilizing the popularity and reach of RSL and the Monarchs in promoting health and wellness for children throughout the region, engaging supporters of soccer to raise funds and volunteer time for various local initiatives.
