SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake has announced that GK Nick Rimando and MF Kyle Beckerman are among 13 Major League Soccer players that have been called up by Jurgen Klinsmann for the U.S. National Team’s friendly on Wednesday against Mexico.  The fifth international friendly of 2015 for the U.S. National Team will be at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, and broadcast live on Fox Sports 1, kicking off at 6:30 p.m. MT.

This marks the first appearance of 2015 in a U.S. camp for Beckerman, who featured prominently for the U.S. in 2014 with nine appearances during the year, including three during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.  He now has 42 caps for the U.S. National Team.

With Real Salt Lake, Beckerman has started all five matches this season to bring his career total to 210 regular season appearances with the Claret-and-Cobalt.  An eight-time MLS All-Star, he now ranks fifth all-time with 358 career MLS appearances.

He is a finalist at the fourth annual Utah Governor’s State of Sports Awards in the category of best Pro/Olympian Male Athlete.  The winners of the Governor's State of Sport Awards will be determined by an online vote.  Voting is now open for all 10 award categories at http://www.stateofsportawards.com.

Rimando has started all four friendlies of 2015 for the U.S. National Team, giving him 20 career appearances.  He has posted a record of 12-3-2 with four shutouts.  The 35-year-old ‘keeper had two appearances in 2015’s January camp against Chile and Panama and then started both matches against Denmark and Switzerland last month.

With RSL, he surpassed the all-time MLS shutout record in 2014 and now has 118 career clean sheets.  He ranks third in MLS history with 374 career appearances, including 229 for RSL.  With the Claret-and-Cobalt he has a career record of 99-70-60 with 82 shutouts.

Rimando and Beckerman will join the U.S. squad in San Antonio ahead of Wednesday’s match and return before RSL hosts Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday.

Klinsmann called in 22 players for the 64th match between the U.S. and Mexico.  Of the 13 players from MLS, 10 teams are represented (Real Salt Lake, the LA Galaxy, D.C.
