Kevon Lambert: Five Fast Facts

Real Salt Lake is excited to announce its newest signing Kevon Lambert, who joins from USL Championship side, Phoenix Rising. The deal for Lambert has been in the works for a number of weeks as the Club looks to reinforce its defensive squad depth. Lambert, 26, has been a regular for the Jamaican National Team and is Phoenix Rising’s all time leader in appearances across all competitions.

Five Fast Facts about new RSL signing Kevon Lambert: 

  • Lambert has appeared in three CONCACAF Gold Cups for Jamaica. In 2017, when the defender was 20 years old, he appeared in five of six Gold Cup matches for his country, helping The Reggae Boyz reach the final for the second time in the country’s history. 
  • According to Fbref, the Jamaican international led Phoenix Rising in the USL Championship in both interceptions and tackles won during the 2019, 2020 and 2021 seasons. 
  • While with Phoenix Rising, after helping Phoenix reach its first ever USL Championship final in 2018, Lambert led his team to a first overall regular season finish in 2019, and then followed that up with helping Phoenix reach its second ever USL Championship final in 2020. During Lambert's six full seasons in Arizona, Rising reached the USL Championship playoffs five times. 
  • Entering his seventh season with the Club, Lambert was named Phoenix Rising's captain in 2023.
  • Although typically deployed as a defensive player, Lambert has scored 13 goals in the USL Championship, his best tally coming in the 2019 season when he scored four. In addition to his goal scoring ability, he’s also registered nine assists showing off his impressive passing skillset.
