This upcoming Monday on June 19, Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals, Real Monarchs and the RSL Academy will be celebrating Juneteenth, a day commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.
In 2022, the state of Utah signed into law that Juneteenth would be celebrated as a state holiday, following the 2021 ruling in Washington DC when the 19th of June was recognized as a federal holiday. Juneteenth stands as a day to recognize African-American achievement and education throughout the history of our country.
