The CONCACAF Gold Cup is in full swing and Wednesday night featured two teams with Real Salt Lake ties squaring off in Group B as Alvaro Saborio’s Costa Rica took on Demar Phillips and Jamaica. The RSL teammates didn’t meet on the field, though, as Phillips is still nursing an injury suffered in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Orlando City, and a back-and-forth game ended in a 2-2 draw.
Saborio played the final 31 minutes and took two shots, but couldn’t impact the outcome and Costa Rica and Jamaica remain knotted in a four-way tie in the Group Stage, as Canada and El Salvador also played to a draw at the StubHub Center.
Group B action shifts to Houston on Saturday, as Jamaica meets Canada, followed by El Salvador and Costa Rica.
On Thursday in Group C, Elias Vasquez and Guatemala will face Trinidad & Tobago in Chicago, followed by Mexico and Cuba.
The U.S. National Team – featuring Kyle Beckerman and Nick Rimando – faces Haiti on Friday at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass.
SAUCEDO JOINS U.S. U-18 CAMP

Javier Perez called in 20 players for the camp, which runs from July 6-14 with matches scheduled for Saturday against Uruguay and Monday against Czech Republic. This is the first domestic camp of the year for the U-18s, who previously had played in Mexico and Bosnia this year.
