Man of the Match: In his 150th Major League Soccer appearance, goalkeeper Zac MacMath led the way between the pipes with four saves, including one in the final moments of stoppage down with the team down to 10 men to preserve the score line and earn the team its fourth clean sheet of the season. 

Telling Stat: For just the second time this season Real Salt Lake was held scoreless, despite registering 11 shots with four on target. Prior to the start of the match, Real Salt Lake was tied for the fifth-most goals scored in Major League Soccer with 24 goals through the first 14 matches. On the other hand, Real Salt Lake prevented Houston from scoring, giving them the fourth-least goals against in the league.  

What You Missed: Justen Glad received Real Salt Lake’s first red card of the season after being shown a controversial second yellow in the 87th minute for a slight jersey tug on an opposing player. Up until this point, he had played every single minute of the season, leading the team with 1,347 minutes. As a result, Glad will miss Real Salt Lake’s next match against the LA Galaxy on Wednesday August 4. 

What’s Next: Real Salt Lake continues a grueling swing of three road games in eight days, traveling to face the LA Galaxy on Wednesday, August 4 at 8:30 p.m. MT and then to meet the Portland Timbers on Saturday, August 7 at 8:30 p.m. MT. Following the completion of this week the team will have competed in six games in just three weeks.
