Man of the Match: Goalkeeper David Ochoa put on one of his best performances making four saves, including one at short range and point blank from Javier Hernandez, one of the top goal scorers in the league. At the end of 90 minutes, he recorded four saves and added three clearances to help the team earn the win.
Telling Stat: The midfield duo of Damir Kreilach and Albert Rusnák have now recorded a combined 35 goals and assists, the fourth-most by any midfield pairing in the entire league. Kreilach has recorded 12 goals and six assists, while Rusnák has added seven goals and 10 assists. Kreilach’s 12 goals are tied for the ninth most in the league and Rusnák’s 10 assists are tied for the fourth most in the league.
What You Missed: Anderson Julio scored in second half stoppage-time to give RSL the 2-1 lead and catapult them into fifth place in the Western Conference. Julio’s goal was his seventh of the season and his fourth as a substitute. RSL is now unbeaten at home in seven-straight matches with six-consecutive wins.
What’s Next: Real Salt Lake heads South to Texas on Saturday, October 9, where they will face Austin FC at Q2 Stadium for just the second time in Club-history and the first on Austin’s home turf.
