Man of the Match: Forward Jefferson Savarino was clinical on the second half attack in Real Salt Lake’s near comeback, scoring one goal and assisting in the Club’s second goal. Savarino led the Club in shots with three and shots on target with one. Additionally, the forward consistently found his teammates in the attack, leading RSL in key passes with six and expected goals and assists at .82.
Telling Stat: With five saves in the match, goalkeeper Zac MacMath surpassed 500 MLS career saves over his career. MacMath is just the second RSL goalkeeper to reach the milestone, the other being Claret-and-Cobalt legend Nick Rimando. The Florida native currently leads the league in saves with 65 and is second in clean sheets with seven. Macmath is also nearing 100 career saves with Real Salt Lake, currently sitting at 93.
