Real Salt Lake was proud to announce Kim Madsen as their Ford Season Ticket Member of the Match. Madsen was honored at RSL’s home match against Sporting Kansas City on July 17.
Madsen attended RSL's open practice at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday which brought back fond memories of years past.
"Years back at a practice they did a fundraiser that for $50 you could take a on Nick Rimando," said Madsen. "I gave them $100, son made them both."
Madsen has been a fan of the team since 2005, and purchased his first season tickets in 2007 as a way to bond with his son who was playing soccer at the time.
"He learned a lot about how to play the game by coming to these games," said Madsen.
"I had one of the other parents on his soccer team comment to me one time about how knowledgeable he was about the game, because we had season tickets, you know?"
They were then were both in the stands on Sunday to witness RSL's 3-0 win over Sporting Kansas City. The stadium was bumping thanks to a Club record 10th straight sell-out and the first Sunday sell-out since 2015.
Another great memory at an RSK game to add to long list for the Madsen family.
