Real Salt Lake’s Colombian duo **Brayan Vera** and **Chicho Arango** have been named to the MLSsoccer.com’s Major League Soccer Team of the Matchday for Matchday 30 following the team’s 2-0 Rocky Mountain Cup victory over Colorado.
Vera was named to the starting XI, while Arango earned a spot on the Team of the Matchday bench.
This is Vera’s first time being named in the MLS Team of the Matchday starting XI and Arango’s first time while with RSL.
Vera’s opening goal, which lifted the roof off America First Field, is also up for MLS Goal of the Matchday, and fans can vote for him below:
The defender’s thundering free-kick was his first Real Salt Lake and MLS goal, and it put the Claret-and-Cobalt in the driving seat against their Rocky Mountain rivals early in the match.
Following the halftime break, Arango would join Vera on the scoresheet with his third MLS goal of the year, and Real Salt Lake would cruise to a 2-0 victory over Colorado.
Two set-piece goals, a two to zero victory over the Rapids and a long Labor Day weekend. It’s safe to say, it was a solid Saturday in Sandy, UT. Join in on the fun at the next RSL home match on September 20 against FC Dallas, tickets available here.
