SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake's Kyle Beckerman, Tony Beltran and Nick Rimando were crowned 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup champions on Sunday, with the U.S beating Panama 1-0 in the tournament final at Soldier Field to take home the regional title.
Beckerman and Rimando went the full 90 for the U.S., while Beltran did not appear off the bench for the U.S.
Beckerman and Rimando were two of the top American performers in the tournament, both starting five of the U.S.'s six matches and turning in solid performances across the board. Beltran only saw action in one game, starting and playing the full 90 in the U.S.'s 4-1 win over Cuba at Real Salt Lake's Rio Tinto Stadium on July 13.
All three players will fly from Chicago to Kansas City later on Monday ahead of Wednesday's AT&T MLS All-Star Game against Italian side AS Roma. All will return to RSL following Wednesday's All-Star contest and ahead of Saturday's decisive Rocky Mountain Cup Presented by Mark Miller Subaru match at the rival Colorado Rapids.
