Real Salt Lake and Mountainland Supply Company to Host 3rd Annual Commanders’ Cup this Weekend

Real Salt Lake announced it will be hosting its 3rd Annual Commanders’ Cup soccer tournament, which will feature Hill Air Force Base and 15 other military bases from around the world.

This year’s Commanders’ Cup will be held from May 31 to June 2. Group play on May 31 and June 1 will be held at Zions Bank Training Center and America First Training Ground. Semi Finals featuring the four group stage winners will be players in the morning of June 2 at Zions Bank Training Center. America First Field will welcome the Commanders’ Cup final for the first time, featuring a 5pm kickoff on June 2.

“Real Salt Lake is proud to recognize the sacrifices of our veteran and active-duty military communities, Real Salt Lake president John Kimball said in a statement. “Welcoming service members from across the world for Commanders’ Cup is small way to show our appreciation to the work they do.”

The Commanders’ Cup Final will be a FREE event that will also feature FREE HOT DOGS, HAMBURGERS, AND SODA courtesy of the Commanders’ Cup Sponsors: Mountainland Supply Company, Whipple Service Champions, LVT, Swire Coca-Cola, BODYARMOR, and Sysco Foods.

RSL Legends and Players will also be in attendance to show support to the service members competing on the field.

Hill Air Force base will play on May 31 at 4:00pm vs Nellis Aire force base, and on June 1 at 7:00am against ICEMEN.

Participants in the tournament will receive free tickets to the Real Salt Lake home match against Austin FC on Saturday, June 1 at 7:30pm (MDT).
