SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake announced today that 16 players from the Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy committed on Wednesday to play soccer at 15 different colleges and universities starting in the fall. Fifteen of the players committed to Division I schools, with three players signing Letters of Intent with schools that finished the 2012 season ranked in the top 25.
Four of the players who committed on Wednesday – Andrew Brody, Ive Burnett, Jose Navarro and Jon Zabasajja – spent at least a portion of Real Salt Lake’s Casa Grande, Ariz. preseason camp training with the first team. A fifth player, U-18 FW Benji Lopez, did not sign a Letter of Intent on Wednesday and is currently training with the Claret-and-Cobalt first team at its camp in Irvine, Calif.
