Defender Kalen Ryden
On being USL Championship Champions:
“It sounds amazing. I’m at a loss for words right now. Nobody had us in this position except for us, nobody. Nobody had us here and this group, three games in a row, we’ve gone down a goal and we came back, that just shows everything, everything about this team. And I’m so proud of these guys. That’s all I can say right now.”
On coming back from being down:
“We knew we were probably going to absorb some pressure with the atmosphere. We knew they were going to come out early, obviously we didn’t want to give up a goal early, but we knew the pressure was coming and giving up a goal we didn’t do too well with it, but we knew that was coming and we responded. We knew if we just stayed patient and stuck to who we were we’d come back in the game, and that’s exactly what we did.”
Midfielder Jack Blake
On overcoming obstacles to win Championship:
“It sounds fairytale. Honestly, I couldn’t tell you right now, I’m speechless. I think just hard work, we’ve been saying it the whole playoffs. We were more than confident in our group, we knew we could come here and do a job, but to actually do it -- I’m speechless.”
On what it means personally to lift the trophy:
“Honestly, I can’t describe it. To come back and never give up, that’s the message. I think the whole group is just an inspiration to anyone watching. The players are an absolute pleasure to work with day-in and day-out, I’m so proud of them and we’re USL Champs!”
Defender Konrad Plewa
On being named USL Championship Final MVP:
“This means everything. My parents, my nephew, they’re all right there and to do it in front of them is quite surreal as I haven’t really had many games in front of them the last two years. But I wish I could hand this to the entire squad, it’s not just me, it’s everybody behind me, the whole organization, everybody is an MVP here.”
