HERRIMAN, Utah (Wednesday September 29, 2021) – Real Monarchs have acquired midfielder Leo Torres on loan for the remainder of the 2021 season from San Antonio FC. The loan agreement was completed prior to the USL Championship’s roster freeze.
“The Club welcomes Leo Torres on loan for the duration of the 2021 USL season. Leo is a talented young prospect that the Club has been tracking this season. It is a welcome opportunity to have him within our group for the remainder of the season,” Real Salt Lake Assistant General Manager Tony Beltran said.
Torres, 17, joined San Antonio FC in February of 2019 as the first professional to sign from the club’s academy. He became the youngest to ever sign a contract in USL Championship history, putting pen to paper at 15 years and 23 days. Since then he has played in eight matches for San Antonio.
Real Monarchs are in the midst of a two-game road stretch in the state of Texas, beginning with El Paso Locomotive on Wednesday, September 29 at 7:30 p.m. MT, followed by Rio Grande Valley FC on Saturday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m. MT.
